12 MONTHS OF NEON LOVE lyrics auctioned on Ebay

A reserve price of only £300 has been placed for the 40cm high text that spells out the lyrics "...I'M IN LOVE, I'M ALL SHOOK UP, HUH UH HUH...".

12 Months of Neon Love is an art project by artists Victoria Lucas and Richard Wheater, entitled '12 Months of Neon Love', began on St Valentines Day 2011. A sequence of twelve quotes will be presented over twelve months in large red neon text. Visible from the railway, the work is erected on the roof of the Neon Workshops studio in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

12 Months of Neon Love is formed using lyrical statements borrowed from well-known songs that feature the many configurations of love. Expressions of intimacy, adoration and heartbreak are visually re-presented to an unsuspecting audience going about their everyday lives.

For more information on the project, as well as additional images, visit www.12monthsofneonlove.blog.com

Situation Critical: Callout for the Curated Programme and Artists' Film and Video Salon

Wirksworth is home to Wirksworth Festival, which over the past two years has concentrated on developing its contemporary visual arts programme, and aspires to become a leading rural Festival of contemporary art in the UK.

They are seeking proposals for new and existing work for their curated programme for 2011, and for the Film & Video Salon 2011. They are interested in site-responsive, site-specific and context-specific work addressing the ‘situation’ of Wirksworth, and in the intersection of Art and Architecture.

Work that critically interrogates the situation that is Wirksworth: ‘situation’, a set of conditions in time and place - a convergence of site, non-site, place, non-place, locality, public space, context and time.

Visit www.wirksworthfestival.co.uk for full details.
